Twin work:
~Casady4 critiqued my Forest Murmurs, saying at some point that "the shapes look like leaves and water drops at the same time". And I thought: hey, why the hell not make a water drops version of this as well? Granted, this totally busts my original proposite of leaving blue outside of my work for once, but who cares. I thinned out the margins on this one, since they felt too thick and "empty" in white. Apart from that, all I did was change gradient and textures. Not very much, but I still like how it came out. I feel a bit bad that it reminds me of tears. Because... um, well, I haven't been feeling the greatest these months, at all. Actually, I've had another pretty big shift in mood and morale. Those interested in knowing what's up can look at my deviantART journal entry, it's definitely too long to paste it here!
I will keep this critique short, since this piece of art is a re-take on the Forest one. This is a beautiful piece of artwork, really pleasing to look at. The way you blended the white and the different shades of blue is expertly done, the textures make it eye catching and attention capturing. Thinning the outlines was a smart idea, this way they separate the drops, without leaving blank space. By using such clear colours, you made this picture come off as very icy. It reminds me of glaciers and the ice fields, which is lovely. Even though the colour scheme appears basic, you managed to keep the work from being boring to look at. It looks something of a cross between a blizzard, and a turbulent frozen river. The background is very different on this one than the original, it spins your eyes (and your mind) in circles just trying to look at it. All in all, a wonderful job!
Gorgeous, as always! It is really a lovely take on the original piece, cold but not unwelcoming in any way. I'll save the rest of it for my critique!! I always love seeing your artwork, you are truly talented. And remember, being happy is important. It makes everything seem better, when you look at the bright side. I'll go read your journal entry!
Well, my journal entry is actually gone now, because I talked to a person that I was having sort of an argument with, but it's all right now. Thanks for caring to check anyway And most of all, thanks for the inspiration! This wouldn't exist in the first place if you hadn't made that comment on the Forest Murmurs critique. And you were right, it works really well as drops
Good job. It's looks amazing. I think this looks like fish swimming in the water. Like the white parts are outlines of fish and the smaller ones are deeper down in the water. If you get what I mean.
