Deus ex Machina by heavenriver Deus ex Machina by heavenriver
Apophysis 7x

Deus ex machina (Latin for "God from the machine") is actually a long-time theatrical expedient. It was used in ancient Greece and consisted in introducing, at the clue point of tragic happenings, an unexpected and supernatural force which would eventually lead to a whole new twist to the plot, usually getting to a happy ending.

On the more technical side, this is one of my experiments with the Disc variation. I believe I can do very nice stuff if I learn to use it correctly, and I hope I will.

Excellent. This reminds me of, perhaps, a close-up of the Death Star, or something huge and corporate and evil.

Really great colors, too.

The Deus ex Machina is actually a very positive figure, which solves most tragedy-oriented situations... but I really like your comparison and I see why you made it. My fractal looks a lot more like a machine than a god of sorts.
Thank you very much! :D

Le deus ex machina est un "coup de théatre", on peut dire. Il y en a certains qui sont un plaisir à voir... et le nom est très interessant selon moi :D merci!

My Apophysis works often have very few common points, because its outcomes are quite more unpredictable. I find it somehow easier to make pre-ordained fractals with UF, because I know the formulas now, more or less, and I can adjust the gradient manually to make them look shiny and evanescent.
I'm happy you like it even if you find it different from my usual style. I'm always up for new things. :D

All of the works in the "Fractal Art" category, or marked by "Apophysis", "Ultra Fractal", "Fractal Explorer" or "Chaoscope" that you can find in my gallery (there's no Chaoscope works yet, but I'll up them soon) is fractal, yes :D
Thank you!
