Ancient Greek Motifs by heavenriver Ancient Greek Motifs by heavenriver
Ultra Fractal 5.01

Following on with the series of tutorials on hiddendimension.com.
This piece here is the result of the Enhanced Traps tutorial, steps 4 to 6: learning about progressive parameters, general texturing and fBm texturing.

Woo-hoo! I'm very proud of this one, even if it's just a spiral. By combining the skills previously acquired through working with modulated iterations with the new ones just faced, I managed to texture each spiral arm differently (yes, I did so on purpose, it was no happy accident this time) and have a separated background. I admit I could have worked more on it, but I made it simple so that I could highlight the spiral shapes and textures more than the actual composition. :D

I like the background, it makes the spiral stand out.
